About Communicating for Change
Production Courses
CFC organises specialised training in radio
& television production. As a way of introducing “community
radio” to Nigeria, CFC’s Executive Director organised a two-month
radio production course, which taught six rural communities
how to produce their own radio programmes. Course participants
produced seventy-eight half hour magazine programs (in English,
Yoruba, Hausa, and Pidgin English) called What's Going
On? The programs were not only informative, but also
reflected the cultural richness and diversity of the group.
Training was held in Lagos and in the field, and trainers
came from Zambia, Benin Republic, and different parts of Nigeria.
CFC is also an active member of the Independent
Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN); staff
members and CFC’s international consultants have acted as
resource people for ITPAN’s training school, and also benefited
from specialised production courses.
